From January 22 to February 22, 2022, the VSoA team organized an architectural design workshop with a healing theme in order to begin our architectural education journey. Anyone with an interest in architecture was welcome to attend the session. It is our goal in this workshop to identify viable solutions for our community under the topic of "Healing Through Architecture." A trauma-informed approach to healing architecture was discussed at the workshop. Attendees learned not only how to use architecture to aid in the healing process, but also how to construct a design from beginning to end. A total of 13 groups of participants were formed to work on the 13 various proposal designs in their preferred locations, with project narratives and architectural design development in mind.
